Short Term Care, also known as convalescent or respite care, is available at Westmeath in all of our Care Units. The options that are available include:
Rehabilitation and Convalescent Care
- The Residential or Assisted Living Wings for recovery from surgical procedures or illness. Private rooms with en suite bathrooms are available with staff to prepare for the move back home. With physiotherapy available, carershelp with bathing and dressings, housekeeping and laundry services and an Executive Chef to meet all of your dietary needs. Recovering has never been this comfortable.
- Rehabilitation in our higher levels of care is also available. When there is no medical need to remain in an acute ward at the Hospital, Westmeath has options. In our higher levels of care we provide a supportive, safe and comfortable environment. Our skilled staff encourage our recovering residents to build strength, regain independence and develop confidence.
Respite Care
- Ideal for when care at home is not possible. Westmeath can provide professional, home-like care and the rate includes all the amenities that are available to our long term residents. Rates are calculated by the level of care provided and assessment prior to admission by the Director of Nursing is required.
